Crossing Variations
Tonight, it occurred to me that I had more than just a couple of variations on this image so I combined them all.

So... I'm driving along the Garlock road. I see a train in the distance as I pass Goler Road. Do a quick u-turn and get to the crossing. Grab the camera. Aarrrgh... it's set for bracketing. Into the menu, turn off the bracketing and rush towards the tracks. I get one picture with the white balance set to clouds and program is in P-mode. P-mode? I NEVER shoot P-mode. Crap!
Given a bit more time, I think I would have went for a shallower DoF.
Decided to blog this because it made it to "explore" today.

I spent the day geocaching around the Tehachapi Loop. Got a few shots of the trains as they made the climb towards the loop.

I can't resist stopping at this spot. Yeah... I know... it's a sickness.

Sitting here with an icepack on my shoulder thinking about how I'd rather be out shooting. Oh well... there's PhotoShop to play with.
This is quite possibly my best work. And the funny thing is... I pulled it out of a pile of older stuff. Kinda makes me wonder if I have anything else buried on my hard-drive that's worth working on. That, or I just got lucky.

Heading back home after watching the sunrise over the Trona Pinnacles. Fortunately for me the light was just about perfect for this. I spot metered on the sign which is why the blues are so dark.
Sometimes, you just get lucky.
I should add... this picture is the reason I stopped to shoot this, just to see what I could do with it.
